XFP is 10G Small Form Factor Pluggable transceiver, developed in 2002, with an XFI based electrical components. FIBRAMERICA XFP transceiver is fully compliant to XFP MSA. It supports 50GHz DWDM 10Gb/s SONET/SDH, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and 10 Gigabit Fibre Channel applications over fiber without dispersion compensation.
10G DWDM XFP Transceivers are specifically designed for carriers and large enterprises that require a scalable, flexible, cost-effective system for multiplexing, transporting and protecting high-speed data, storage, voice and video applications in point-to-point, add/drop, ring, mesh and star network topologies. Q:Is this compatible with Dell X1052P switch?
A:Yes, works well with Dell switches.
Q:Will the 10gb sfp auto negotiate down to 1gb if the sfp at the other side is only 1gb?
A:No, it won’t. This is 10Gb/s SFP+ transceiver module, so it can’t auto negotiate down to 1Gb, but only run at 10Gb.
